Citizens House, by Archio

I've been seeing a lot about this project over the past week, so I popped over to take a look for myself.

It's such an interesting and progressive project; Citizens House consists of 11 affordable homes, with the prices dictated by a discounted rate against median salaries in the borough. Lewisham Council also gifted the site to the development, reducing financial strains faced by developments.

I spoke briefly to one of the residents on site, who said that his favourite part of the building was the insulation properties, going on to say that he suspected he may be able to go the vast majority of the year without heating his flat. When the project looks this good, it really reinforces how important thermal properties are if that is the thing someone's most excited about. I look forward to seeing how the scheme settles, and hopefully more projects of a similar nature will be realised around the country.
